Democrats have unintentionally told us their real positions on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution by dropping any reference to God from their party's 2012 platform. This was not an accidental elimination of the reference to God, but was an intentional, planned, coordinated and deliberate modification to their previous platforms, and it was a pleasure watching the delegates to their convention squirm to add the reference back to the platform, and all of this while the world watched on live television. The importance to Americans to the idea of God being central to our lives and liberty is that Republican Americans believe that God gave us liberty and freedom, and that government must have limited and defined powers over us, whereas Democrats believe in government being the guiding and controlling being over our lives. This is a critical distinction and one that Americans dismiss at their peril.
This was a great opportunity for Americans to understand the real attitude of Barack Obama and the modern Democrat party: they say all the correct, traditional, patriotic things in public, but will undermine tradition and patriotism behind closed doors with no one watching them.
Also dropped from the 2012 DNC platform was a reference to Jerusalem and its importance to Israel. Although Obama gives lip service to being an ally of Israel (because he desperately needs Jewish votes), his own actions and the dropping of Jerusalem from the platform speaks the truth about any ties Obama feels toward Israel: he has none!
