Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate who, among
others, lost the most recent presidential election to Donald Trump, is
pretending to be demanding a recount of the votes that led to her defeat on
November 8th in order to boost the total of her personal vote count,
but one strongly suspects that her recount move is just an attempt to get
Hillary elected. If a Green can’t win an election, then a Democrat will do as a
back-up. After all, both Greens and Democrats believe the lie of warming/change,
desire growth of government to the detriment of a growing economy, evidently
like seeing a growing unemployment rate, love opening our national borders to
all comers and favor a welfare-for-all approach to making America’s economy
grow and increase personal wealth. Oh, and one must not forget the ultimate
personal wealth growth factor for liberals: higher taxes on the middle class
and more regulations for small businesses.
Possibly the most offensive thing coming from Ms.
Stein’s demand for a recount is the appearance of a bought-and-paid-for
election, performed at her insistence: if the results of an election isn’t to
the left’s liking, they just order a new one and expect their go fund me account to pay for it (that
way, one suspects, she can avoid nasty laws and regulations about the
expenditures from her presidential campaign funds, assuming there are any finds
left after her losing run for office).
Americans are suspicious of elections on-demand which
are paid for with personally funded money. The only elections that count are
the publically funded ones or the court-ordered occasions when the vote is too
close to call. The presidential election on November 8th was not too
close to call, and the evidence is that finally all of the liberal news organizations
called it in favor of Trump, and even Hillary conceded the election to her
Republican rival. Private elections occur in Cuba and North Korea, but
hopefully not in America. One fears that if the election is private the vote
tabulators may also be for- hire, and this arrangement is not to be trusted.
If a duly held election can be overturned by any fool
politician then we’re in serious trouble. Liberals like Stein and Hillary are
never willing to accept a public dressing-down like they got when America
elected Donald Trump in direct repudiation to their anti-American ideas, so they
fall back on go-fund-me-an-election accounts to assure their election. The Electoral
College is in the constitution, the go-fund-me process is not. But
unconstitutional power grabs on the part of dictators have always been admired
by the American left, and that’s evidently what’s taking place here.
Leftists believe strongly in a powerful American currency
only when they spend their money on their personal success, and they expect
value in return for their bucks. The old saw of “fool me once: shame on you,
fool me twice: shame on me” applies here, and I’m not willing to be shamed by
having a new vote count that can be corrupted and elect a leftist politician.
